Visitor Visa for Wife & Kid

Hi,

I am here in US on B1. My I-94 expires on mid of Jan. I client has already applied for another 3 months extension. If extension is granted, I can stay here till mid of April.

Now I want to call my wife and daughter to visit here on Tourist Visa. She has an appointment on 18 Jan 2007.

What should she say when the officer ask her about my I-94 as at that point of time my I-94 will get expired and I donot have any confirmation about my extension. Will they give tourist visa to my wife and daughter even my extension is in process.

Also we do not have marriage certificate. Will an affidavite will work. My name on her passport is mentioned by her name in my passport is not present

B1 visa is given just for the following reasons:
-to conduct business meeting
-to participate for a short term training
-to settle an estate
and for similar reasons.

The people who travel to USA on B1 visa are expected to return before the expiry of 1-94. Since u applied for an extension already, the VO may presume that u r going to settle in USA. The only tie u have back in ur country is in the form of ur wife & child.

If u r going to apply for a visa for them, the VO may presume, the chances of all of u coming back to India is nil, as u r already trying to violate the visa norm (legally or otherwise).

Sorry to say, the chances of ur wife and child getting a visa is very less even with all the necessary documents.
