  • Visitor Visa; Sponsor's status!

    Hi,
I'm planning to apply for Visitor's visa for my parents and looking for dates in Feb-Mar 2007 period. I'm working on H1B status. My previous Visa expired in May 2006. I still have a valid I-797 thats valid till 03/01/2007. I had applied for a renewal of H1 and expect to receive the "Receipt Notice" in a weeks time.
I was going through the list of documents I have to send as a sponsor and one of the mentioned is the copy of a valid visa/I-797.

My questions is.. Is it ok if I send a copy of the "Receipt Notice" along with a copy of my previous Visa, current I-797. Will it be any problem for my parents Visa as my renewal is still pending with USCIS. If its a problem, then I might have to think of pushing my renewal into Premium category so I would have an approval before they go for an interview.

    Any previous experiences? Please suggest.

It should be fine as long as you have a valid I-797 and a copy of your renewal petition/receipt.

Thats true as long as I can schedule an Interview date for them in Feb. Ones it is March, my I-797 is no longer valid and all I'm left with is the Receipt Notice.

I'm still waiting for Interview slots to open for Feb/March, as my parents need a Telugu translator at the Chennai consulate.
