Vistors To G4 Visa

Hey hi guys i need help again. Well i entered the United States on a B1/B2 Visa and i was given a 3 months entry. I filed an extension application for 3 more months but in the mean time i got a Job at the United Nations. I now have to apply for a G4 visa and i havent heard from the USCIS . Now my question is because my application of extension of Visa B1/B2 is pending and i plan to go to Cananda to get the G4 Visa will my pending application will automatically be cancelled when i go to Cananda or will the G4 not be issued to me until my previous application is completed.

Also what category does the G4 visa fall in ..is it immigrant visa or non-immigrant visa

Nothing like that. As long as you applied for B2 extension before I-94 got expired, you would be considered in legal status and you should not have any problems in getting G4 visa just because of that.

Also i would like to ask that now that i am getting my G4 visa will my b1/b2 (10 years)will be cancelled?
Or my b1/b2 will be considered invalid as long as i am on my g4 and after my g4 expires can i travel again on my b1/b2 or will i have to get a new visitors visa
