  • Parents visa was rejected 3rd time

    Hello All

My parents visa was rejected 3rd time agin on 214b (My brother and I are both in USA). I wrote the officer stating the reasons they would come back to India, and asked my father to give it along the application but the officer did not even read the letter even after my mom requested her to read it.

Previous advices I have received thru this website were to apply seperately for mom and dad, but I am afarid to do that. One of our relatives did the same and her father was rejected again, but her mother got the visa.

Would like suggestions if this approach would work?

My sister has two kids and we are planning to apply visa for them also and say that my dad will return after 1 month when my sisters kids summer holidays are done. Will that show as a strong tie?

    Thanks

You should have adoped the strategy of one person applying and traveling
    at one time.
Why were you afraid? If your father had applied a reasonable time after
your mother had made a trip and he showed some occupational ties to INdia, he stood good chance of getting the visa, especially if he showed that he was travelling alone.

Even if he was not successful;one person getting the visa is better than nobody getting any. Now the situation is even more difficult, with every denial, the chances go down even more.

The strategy with your sister's kids will not work. It is not compelling enough.
One has to show compelling reason in one's own situation rather than relatives.

Please describe what happened in previous 3 interviews , your parents'
job and financial situation and the visa status of kids in US.

My brother and I live in US. I have a green card and my brother has a H1b and it will expire in sep 2007. I ahve another sister who lives in India, she is married and has two kids.

      1st Interview - January 17, 2006

My dad has retired, but showed strong ties - grandmother, brother's marriage, my sister's family and my mother and father's extended families, property, and pension. Only two questions - how many children and where are they? Rejected under 214b.
