  • documents for submitting at VFS (before actual interview)

    Hi,

I know that some documents needs to be submitted at application center (at Pune in my parent's case) atleast 5 days before the interview if the interview is at Mumbai consulate.

when I booked online appointment I got an email containing the link to various prefilled online documents (such as DS-156, interview confirmation letter, etc.), there is also a "checklist" of documents to be submitted at VFS included in that list.

Now my question is: do my parents need to submit only those items listed in "checklist" or the copies of all supporting (sponsor/visitor) documents also need to be submitted at VFS?

    Thanks for any help.

    Shiv.

BTW, below is the list of items mentioned in the "checklist", to be submitted at VFS application center.

    1. DS-156 in original signed and with photo affixed.
    2. DS-157 in original. if you are 15-55 years of age
    3. Photocopy of passport data pages (1st and last page).
    4. Photocopy of the passport pages bearing “Observation” or “Remarks”.
    5. Photocopy of Interview appointment letter.
    6. Original HDFC fee receipts (Yellow copy).

and there no mention of any supporting (visitor/sponsor) documents in there.

    please help. Thanks,

    Shiv.

Submit only the documents asked for, rest will be carried by the applicant at the time of interview.

We all know that life is not easy when trying for a visitor visa but do not panic or overthink situation. Clear calm thinking will provide you with answers.

        Thank you for the help.

I got confused when I read "photo copies of all the supporting documents also needs submitted at VFS" at the bottom of Sponsor Documents for visitor Visa page on this site itself.

and got more confused/panic'ed after hearing different things from various people/friends.

        thanks again for clarifying, anyway.

        Shiv.
