  • Visa Rejected for Mother in Law -- Need info -- Pls help

My mother in law's visa was rejected at chennai consulate. I had all the required documents and seems that the Visa officer did not go the documents at all. He just saw the folder only.

    He asked only 3 q's.

    1. how many childeren do you have? one son and one daughter.
    2. what does your son does in india? working in goverment service.
    3. how long ago did you see your daughter? one year.

then he told they may not give visa and he told that the reason for denial is written in the document which he has given. But this document is a generic one which does not give any specific reason for rejection.

can some one help me how to approach to solve this, I would like to schedule an appointment again.

What should I do to improve the chances of visa getting approved? Is anyone in similar situation like me?

It is important to show strong ties in India such as property or anything that will prevent them from staying in the US too long.
You could always keep trying and hope for the best , also go through the
discussion forum on this site and look at the faq's for visitor's visas.
