Sponsor documents?

I sent the sponsor documents to my parents who have a visa interview end of this month. I read somewhere that someone was rejected when they couldnt show tax returns. I didnt include pay stubs and tax returns in the documents that I sent as it wasnt mentioned in the I-134.
I can always send scanned copies, but I just wanted to know if they are necessary.

if you are sponsoring the trip... yes you need to send them.
