Tourist Visa for wife

Hi

I have a B1 visa and planning to visit US on official trip. I want to take my wife along. My wife has a sister in US with H4. Is it good to get a invitation from her sister?
Otherwise if we fill the form that she will go along with me as a tourist, what complications can arise.
My wife, is not income tax payee but she has sufficent funds in her account as I regularly transfer money to her account. Will the bank statement work for her to prove the financial status?
