  • Marriage Certificate

    Hi Anyone

I live in georgia with my family. I and my wife were working in US even before we both got married. We got married last year in India. We somehow failed to register our marriage when we were there in india. We are now in the process of filing for I 485 for which we need our marriage certificate. I just wanted to know if it is any way possible to apply for our marriage certificate without having to travel back to india to get one.

Would appreciate your response to this mail

    Thanks

You should try at the Indian consulate (whichever is nearest to you).
As long as you have some evidence e.g marriage ceertificate from the church ......
The indian consulate does issue birth certificates also based on the date of birth in your passport.
I believe you can get it done by mail too, check their website
