Visa was stamped but Passport get Lost or Stolen

Hi All,

My mother got the visa but after two days her passport was lost or stolen. Please let me know what should we do? and in wrost case what could be happen?

Please give me suggestions. I need ur help.

Is she an Indian national?
*She needs to report it immediately to the US embassy/consulate which stamped the visa. Call them. Tell them the passport and visa no.
*Report it also to the local police and get a copy of the police report.
*Apply for a new Indian passport under TATKAL scheme.
* When she gets the passport, apply for a new visa. They will give it to her based on the first one.

Hi All,

Thanks Peace for your answer. She is Pakistani National and she is in Pakistan right now and she never travel on that visa and visa was issued few days ago. Embassy is closed in Pakistan till tuesday due to national holidays.

Passport was lost or stolen on Saturday night. Embassy was closed by that time so we reported in Local Police Station and also fax the copy of passport and visa to Embassy. Do I need to call some where in US to report this because we are unable to inform in US Embassy Pakistan.

Now my concern is, will she need to go through all the process for applying the new visa or she will get same visa on new passport without visiting the embassy? will she need to wait in the que to get the visa stamp again?

Need some more suggestions and advice.

You should call the embassy when it opens and confirm that they received the fax and the loss message.

There is no dropbox facility now, so anyone 14-79 yrs has to visit the embassy to get the visa. In India embassy has appointed authorized agencies
to schedule appointments. If you have a similar agency that scheduled your
appointment in Pak. the first time, you can check with them how to go about the whole thing.

We have only one Authorized agency i.e. American Express in Pakistan for this purpose. We give passport and visa Application and visa fee to them, they send passport and visa application to embassy, embassy send back all details to American Express and AMEX inform us and call us to collect the appointment letter and passport from them.

Okay, we will call American Express as well for details. till tuesday every one is close, so things will clear on wednesday.
