Parents wants to go for Visitor visa, while my visa is getting expire

Hi All,

I am here on H1b visa. My visa is going to expire in Oct 2007. My company is going to file 3 years extension for me after that.

But my concern here is, my parents wants to visit me in June - July and I want them to stay here for atleast six months. They can't go for stamping right now bcos of my sister's marriage.

My questions are,

1) Can visa officer refuse their visa bcos my visa is going to expire?
2) Is it possible that they can get visa for six months or they will get visa only till my current visa is vaild?

Any help in this will be highly appreciated.

As long as you are in legal status in US, you can sponsor them. Not a problem.

Thanks for the reply. But still I m confused that will they grant visa for six months or just 3 months bcos my visa will expire within 3-4 months?

Their visa duration is not relevant to your visa expiration date.
