    my parents attended for interview on jan 17th at chennai consulate...but their visa got rejected under 214(b),...am deeply disappointed ...am planning to reapply again during last week of feb.(just one month gap)
    i just wanted to know if its ok to reapply again in the same consulate(chennai) after one month

    Please post some details for advice;
    1. last interview in Q and A form
    2. your visa staus in US
    3. parents' job/financial status in India
    4. Did you or your husband send an I-134
    5. Any siblings in India?

      My husband is going to sponsor my parents and also they both are retired..
      interview went as below..

      vo-who is sponsoring u?
      dad- son-in-law

      vo-where do they live in us??
      dad- YYYY

      vo-what do u do??
      dad-retired from xxx

      vo-(to my mom) what do u do??
      mom-retired from xxx

      vo-how much pension do u get??
      dad-i dont get any pension as i have opted for full settlement initially and my wife gets xxx as pension

      then vo said that he cannot grant them visa...i dont know where we went wrong...(may be the last question saying that my father has no pension made vo to think he is a potential immigrant...but he is earning interest from his fixed deposits and rent from property and having shares and am having a brother who is living with my parents in india and yet to get married)but vo didnt mind to check out the documents...all the documents were in perfect place..

        Let your mom apply alone in Feb., your dad not getting any pension may be the reason for denial. They will ask her why he is not applying and she can say , he is dejected by the denial and does not wish to go now. That way he will act as a tie for her come back to and increase the chances.
        She should ask for a short stay of 2-3 months.

        Once she has made a trip, your dad can apply later in 2007. When he applies, he should show some occupational activity and source of income in INdia like a small business or a small job which he can establish during the year.
