will by visitors visa get expire if I apply for F-1?

I had a query about visitor visa. I have a visitor visa which will expire on 2012 and in this july i will be applying for my F1 visa, so if i get my student visa what will happen to my visitor visa?

Will it be there or it will get cancelled?
