Can one go for visa stamping when the current visa is still valid?

Hi All,
I have a situation here. My mom has USA visitor visa and it is valid untill April 20th 2007. She wants to Travel to USA in the month of MAY. Can she go for visa stamping prior to April 20th 2007? I appreciate your answers.
