Urgent!!please Help

Hello all,
This forum has been very helpful in preparing documents for my mom. She is going for visa on wednesday this week.
I told her to pay the VFS service fee by cash inside the consulate. Is it Right. Or she has to take by HDFC DD. Please help me soon. my mom is leaving for chennai in couple of hours.

clarification needed

Just wondering...are you not supposed to pay both the application fee and the service fee right at the beginning of the process i.e. before you can take a visa appointment?

please clarify.

Thank you for the reply. what confused me most is for both visa and VFS service fee, it says" payable by cash or DD".. Also i didnot know that both fees has to be paid in the begining. Its better if you can clarify again and may be put it in the FAQ thread. It was not very clear even on the VFS website about this cash or DD business.
