Just wanted to share my parent's experience in the case where there was a mistake in her name while I filled the form and could not change it after taking an appointment.
I had written to the VFS Center for Interview at Mumbai Consulate what I should do in this case. They wrote back to me that we should not make any changes manually and just let the officer at the VFS Center know of the mistake and they will take the necessary steps.
Having said that, when my parents went to the VFS Center to submit their application as stipulated, they were told that they do not need to do anything and that the visa will be issued as per the name in the passport. They were not asked to change the form or anything. The form was submitted as is.
