Do I need to come to US within the 6 months

I have applied for a visitor visa for my Mother. If she got a visa for 1 yr or 10 yrs whether she has to come to US within the 6 months after getting the visa or she can come to US in any time before the validity period?

Please reply me as soon as possible. If she has to come to US within 6 months after getting visa, I have to reschedule my mothers appointment.

Someone told me that for the first time you have to come to US within 6 months afte getting visa. Is it true?

There are several myths in the air and this is one of them.
Just so you can believe , you can check the B1/B2 page on the US embassy website. They have exhaustive info about B1/B2 and there is no mention of a 6 mo restriction.

And they do not need to have a restricion, they worry about people who enter and DO NOT WORRY ABOUT WHO DO NOT ENTER.
