  • Please help (need senator letter format )

    Hi

My MIL attended the interview on 21st of FEB 2007 , They interviewed her for 1.5 hrs and took the passport and form 156 they said the passport will be sent to you by mail

Today we received the passport with 214(b) form

BTW this is her 3rd time rejection in 2 yrs.
We showed property documents which are in her name, All the family members pictures (every one lives in india except my wife)
affidavits, notorized letters, pictures, every document what ever ties to india.

In form 156 we mentioned 3 months visit.

First two times they gave the passport immediately , this time they mailed the passport and 214 letter.

Now i would like to request my senator to help in this regard.

If that fails then i have no choice to apply for a immigrant visa.

BTW we are citizens and MIL does n't want live here for ever, so we were applying for visitor's visa instead of applying for immigrant visa.

Please post a senator letter format if any of you have.

    I really apprieciate your help.

    Thanks
    Gimba

I have heard of a similar case like this in another forum (sometime back, i am not able to find the thread now) where during the interview, the VO granted the visa and they were asked to pay the fees. But to their surprise when they received the passport there was no visa stamp but a rejection stamp and a letter stating the denial in 214(B). Based on my recollection on reading thru the responses by people, the following could be the causes

    1. The applicant DID NOT disclose all their immediate relatives living in the U.S
    2. Their immediate relatives entered on a B-1/B-2 visa and DID NOT RETURN as promised i.e staying in the U.S illegally.
    3. Entered U.S on B-1/B-2 visa, married a U.S citizen just for the purpose of an immigration benefit.
    4. Claim to be employed in XYZ company but actually was unemployed.
    5. Anything that attributed to misinterpretation of facts.

I am not an immigration attorney or an expert, i have just presented this based on my recollection reading thru the responses in other forums.
