Postponement of Visa appointment

Our parents have a visa appointment in the next 10 days. But we are still waiting for an important document.
Can we postpone the visa appointment for a few more days? I am not able to see any available dates in the webpage of US consulate chennai.

Yes you can

You need to postpone it within 2 working days before the appointment. Are you taking the translator ? If so there are fewer dates available. Try the English one and that shows you more dates.
