Visit Visa for my Mom & Brother

My mom and my brother are planning to visit US on Jun 2007.
In this instance, My brother wants to sponsor for himself and my mom's trip will be sponsored by me.

Questions:

1. Will there be any problem if my brother self sponsor his trip?
His annual income is 8 Lakhs INR per Annum and has a property on his name.

2. If i go for a group appointment in chennai, can my brother act as a translator for my mom(She can only speak in Tamil)?

3. Can two people attend the visa together, when one is sponsored by me and other is a self sponsor?

Is your brother married with any kids?

Both of them should appear together and he can answer all questions they ask about his mom as well. Provided he does not have a large family of his own, with 8L/yr he can safely say he is spending both for himself and his mother. Splitting of sponsorship is not advised at all.

If you wish to sponsor, sponsor both of them and not one.
