Hello,
First of all, kudos to this very helpful website.
My dad will be going for the visa interview(tourist) early in May at Chennai. I have a few queries regarding that.
The background is.....
He works as an officer in a bank in India and he will be relieved by the end of April(through VRS scheme). I want him to visit here by the first week of June. My mom is working in a bank in India, they also have an younger daughter, working in India, yet to be married(they are looking for matches), my grandmom (father's mom)lives with my parents. My mom has 5 yr multiple entry visa and she alone visited us in 2004 for 3 months.
1. Having in mind my dad's family ties in India, can u please suggest as to the perfect time to go to visa interviw? Whether last week of April(before he is relieved) or within second week of May? Will 'just retired from work' situation, good or bad?
2. Assuming that he goes to the interview by the 3rd week of April, does he have to mention that will be relieved from work shortly?
3. Also, does he have to tell the fact that my mom will be accompanying him or can he tell that he alone is visiting? (citing that my mom is wkg etc.. etc..)
when infact the plan is that they both are planning to visit us.
4. Both my mom and dad have decided to self-sponsor themselves. Does this have to be mentioned by my dad during the interview? Will this 'self-sponsoring' heighten the chances of visa approval? They have good financial and property ties in India.
5. Since they are self-sponsoring, are there any documents that we need not send or should specially send? (this matter really sits top of my head, as we r in the process of making ready the req documents)
6. Also is there any special set of documents that they are required to show, as they are self-sponsoring?
Sorry, my thread is long, but please help me with replies. Am eagerly waiting to see them...
Thanks in advance.
