  • VISA Stamp - Annotation What's this

My Aunt got a VISA for 6 months only and the VISA stamp has a annotation field
where is it written as 6 months Vacation.

    What does this means ?

So at the port of entry she will be granted I-94 for 6 weeks only ? What if she want to stay for 2 months ?

Please help.. I want her to stay for atleast 2-3 months.. 6 weeks is a very short time.

From what I know, relatives other than immediate family (parents/in-laws and siblings) don't stand much chance of getting a visa at all. So actually, your aunt seems very very lucky to have gotten a visa for even 6 weeks.

The consulate obviously doesn't see her ties to you as being strong enough to deserve a longer stay and I do not think that she would be able to get an extension (to extend a visa you need to apply about 45 days before her I-94 expires but her visa is only for 45 days).

And of course, there is no guarantee that she will be permitted a 6 week stay (I-94 stamp) by the immigrations authorities at her POE. You can hope that she does but it is possible that they may ask tough questions and the may allow her only a month's stay.

So instead of getting upset I think you should be pleased that she is even able to come for a short trip and ensure that she makes the most of her stay here.
