  • Besides the sponsor's documents(me) - is the invitee's(my parents) docs also needed?

    Hello !

I am new to this forum......but just by browsing through, I have come across very helpful information for me to know at this point - since I want my parents in India to visit me this summer and they will be scheduling an interview with the Kolkata consulate soon.

My question is that if I am the sponsor and I will be sending all the sponsor docs along with the I-34 to my parents for the consulate interview, is it also necessary for my parents to carry their documents also ( i.e. their bank statements, property papers etc) ?

Is it ok if they just take only my documents with them since I am their sponsor?

Any insight into this will be very appreciated.

    thanks

The officer will be mainly looking at their ties to India; your sponsorship is
secondary. So they must carry evidence of all occupational and financial ties to India ;(tax returns, property papers, bank account statements
for the last 6 months, etc.)
