  • Mom's visa got rejected 2nd time!!

    Hello,
My mother went to the B2 visa second time as it got rejected for the 1st under 214b. she went on 16th of march with all the documents showing her property and photos with the relatives and immediate family, after seeing all the documents he asked for the ration card, and unfortunately she did not take it with her. I dont know how long she has to wait before she goes for the next time....gurus any suggestions??

    Hi,
As she cannot speak English we had to take a Telugu appointment, and it seems no questions asked but the ration card. Before that my mom by herself explained to the VO about the family ties and her property, and also she said it seems that her intention is only to stay in US for 3 months not more than that, as her visa got rejected before under 214b

No other questions were asked, after looking at the documents the VO asked for her ration card and she said that she did not have it with her at that point of time, then the interpreter said that come back with your ration card. This is all the conversation between them as per my mother.

        Hello,
She said that her brother lives with her and also her mother in law lives with her. but they are not included in the ration card, as my grand mother will be traveling between my home town and my uncle's. If her case is rejected under 221 should i take a new appointment or not?

i am on green card i did not come here on a B2 or B1 and did the change, I was here with my husband and unfortunately got divorced after a while but i am still here and working. Could that be a problem? there are no other relitives in US besides me for her.

If your mother is a widow with one child (since you don't mention your father or any siblings) the VO is bound to assume that your mother would prefer to live with her own daughter here in the U.S. rather than with her brother/m-i-l.

The VO might also assume that since you are no longer married with no other family in the U.S. you would want to keep a family member (your mother) with you.

And both these assumptions would not be completely unreasonable.

Sadly, unless you have another sibling in India, I don't know how your mother can prove her intention to return when her social/economic ties to India are not strong enough for her to want to be in India.
