  • visitor visa for my friend!!!!!!!!!!

my family friends brother-inlaw is GC holder and he is a stroke patient and (he is crippled on the right hand side of the body and not able to walk properly so he is staying in the Rehab and US government is taking care of him (in other words he is using his Medic Aid and Social Security to survive) and literally living in Government Rehab Center, no income or no living space or bank balance and being eligible person as a green card holder can he sponsor for his Visitor Visa for my friend.

I know this is a dumb question and I just wanted to look at the venues to help them out any way I can....

Your inputs will be greatly appreciated once again.

In the context of a visa application, a sponsor is a person who provides financial backing and promises to take on full responsibility of the visa applicant if/when he gets to this country.

How can some one who cannot take care of himself financially or otherwise commit to take care of some one else? The sponsor has to indicate his financial status in the I-134 form. What is someone who has no income or no living space or bank balance going to fill in to that part of the form? And how can a person in that state of health promise to take on responsibility of the stay of another person?

And why would the consulate even accept such a sponsorship as having been made for genuine reasons?

And even if the b-i-l does sponsor or for that matter even if the applicant sponsers himself, he will still have to mention in the visa application that his spouse is in the US on a green card. And that means there will be lots of tough questions.
