visa period- 6months or 2 months

Hi!
can anyone tell me as to how many months of visa did you request? my dad is a lawyer in India and he cannot stay for more than 2 monthsin USA.so should i mention that i am requesting a visa for 2 months or 6 months and then ask my dad to say he will come back in 2 months.

If he is going to stay here for 2 months, mention that. Nothing wrong in telling the truth.

thanks for your prompt reply..I just had one question.If I mention only 2 months is there a chance that they will not give a 10yr visa.
Will they only give a visa for 6 months?

Issuing a (10 yr visa) Vs (a less than 10 yr visa) is solely at the discretion of the VO. We have no say in that matter
