    two questions about I-134

    1) at the top-right corner of I-134, it says "Exp. 04-30-07" does that mean the form expires on 30th Apr 2007? If so, where can I obtain the latest version, because my parent's visa interview appointment is on May 9th 2007

    2) This is the second time my parent's are applying - they got rejected last time only two months back, and the VO didn't even see any documents at all. So this time, to question # 9, should I mention about the last time's affidavits I sent?

    Thanks, would appreciate your help.

    Shiv.

Dont apply soon(2 months time) unless something has drastically changed. Why were they rejected before ? Try after 6 months time and let them self sponsor.

How many siblings do u have and where r they ?
What do yr parents do ?

Both my siglings (elder brother and elder sister) are married and settled in India only - actually I'm the only one who ever came abroad in our entire family. My Father got retired recently, and purchased agri-land whith his life time savings so as to keep himself busy after retirement. My parents also have a own house (my elder brother lives with them in the same house). And two years back I purchased a Flat in Pune, India, which is rented out - so I guess we can include that rent as well in their source of income (b'coz there is no loan on that) in addition to my Father's monthly pension and agricultural income.

We have a pretty strong case and I think that during the last time interview, my Father didn't present the complete picture properly, Probably it was just a bad day of high rejections. So applying again to try our luck.

now can somone please answer my questions?

      thanks.

To question # 9, Mention the names and the dates when you sent last time.

for yr question "1) at the top-right corner of I-134, it says "Exp. 04-30-07" - I guess that shouldnt be a problem. But i am not 100 % sure. You can check by emailing the Consulate directly.

Yr case seems to be Strong. What was the reason given to them when VO said its rejected ?

When they go again, go with photos of family/relatives, ration card(to prove that you have 2 siblings in India) and ask them to tell the VO that the first time he was nervous. Prepare them well for all the possible questions. They should get it this time. Good Luck.

thanks Raj, I will check with VFS about the expiry date.

last time, my Father didn't mention anything about my sister - VO didn't ask how many children, he directly asked who all live in India, to which my Father told only about my brother.

my Father didn't properly explain the fact of he buying entire agri-land only after retirement, VO asked source of income in India, to which my Father said monthly pention of Rs. 4-5K and "cultivation".

Finally VO asked about bank balance to which my Father said around Rs. 1 to 1.5 lakh, so rejected by giving 214(b) - otherwise no specific reason was given, VO didn't see any documents either. And also due to presence of Marathi interpreter VO failed to get the complete picture I guess...

I mailed VFS to clarify on the expiry date, their response says -

"The expiry date of the Affidavit of support is given on the last page kindly check the same"

I don't find any other expiry date mentioned anywhere else. I did mention that I was trying to download the form from www.uscis.gov site.

I don't know what else to do now...

            --------------------
probably they are talking about the expiry date of the "Notary Public" on the last page...

The expiry date is usually not a problem. If the new form was available it would be there on the uscis site itself. If the dates when the form is signed is before the expiry date then you are anyways ok. Quite often the forms dont get updated for several months after the expiry date.
