Parents got Visa at Chennai

My parents went for B2 last week and got it successfully .Thanks a lot to immihelp and all contributors to this forum.

They got 1 year visa before in June 2004 but got rejected in Feb 2006 .This is their 3 rd time.Both children are in US.This time as suggested by immihelp took affidavit to assure their return to India .The VO was an American male and friendly.

My parents presented the affidavit along with passport to VO and he glanced that.

VO:Can I see your bank statement?
Parents:Gave the CA statement.
VO:How many kids do you have?
Parents:2 and both in USA.
VO:Why were you rejected in 2006 ?
Parents:dont know .We were not allowed to present any docs.
VO:Bcos both of your kids are in US.
VO:How many months do you want to stay in US
Parents:3 Months
VO:Are you sure
Parents:Yes
VO:How can you assure that you will come back?
Parents:They explained what ever was in there in affidavit.
VO:You will get your Passport by mail .
Parents:Thankyou officer

They are still waiting for passports.

Congrats Vic, They are Lucky. 2004 Approval might have helped this time. These days VOs are pretty strict for parents who have more than 1 kid here.

My parents visa was rejected twice at chennai. Both times the reason was due to both, me and my brother are in the US. I saw your post and am wondering what affadavit did you provide. Could you please clarify?

The VO did not give much importance to the affidavit.But it will help your parents to convey theit thoughts.

In the affidavit they just had information about occupations in India,relatives etc.Just think about the strong reasons why they wont stay permanently in USA and put those information.There is no format for this.
