  • HELP - Self-sponsoring & I-134

My dad has his visa interview at Chennai Consulate during the first week of May. He is self-sponsoring the trip and it was duly filled in the DS-156 form also. Now my question is,

    1. In all the letters(like letter to the consulate and other letters) we have mentioned that we will take care of his travel expenses inside USA, food and housing. Does that mean that we have to send the notarised I-134 form?

    2. If we dont have to send the I-134, then do we still need to send our bank statements?

Please help me with my queries. I am relying on your replies on whether or not to send the I-134.

    Thanks

SELF SPONSORING MEANS YOU DO NOT SEND ANY I-134, AND YOU SHOULD NOT MENTION IN YOUR INVITATION LETTER ABOUT EXPENSES. ONCE HE WRITES ON DS 156 FORM THAT HE WILL PAY FOR THE TRIP, ALL THAT IS UNDERSTOOD.
i SUGGEST YOU RESEND THE INVITATION LETTER . OTHER THAN THAT YOU NEED TO SEND YOUR PASSPORT, VISA AND BIRTH CERTIFICATE(WITH YOUR DAD'S NAME) COPIES. NO FINANCIAL DOCUMENTS.

Please go through the following section on DS157:
        /us-visa-and-immigration-forms/ds-157.html
It clearly states that any applicant younger than 15 and older than 55 does not need to fill the DS-157 form.

So when you apply online, if the applicant is not required to fill up that form then the form just does not appear.
