Hotels near Chennai embassy and procedure inside the embassy

Hi,
My mom got an interview date for next month. I was wondering if anyone has any experience with hotels near the embassy where she can stay. She will be staying in Chennai for just two days and we were looking for something not too expensive but atleast with AC.

Also, I wanted to know what the procedures are like inside the embassy these days and approximately how much time it will take once one gets inside.

Any help is greatly appreciated..

I have visited chennai embassy .
there was one hotel called The Residency ,10 minutes walk from
embassy .
cost is nearly 1500 /- per a day (a/c room ).

how long she has to stand depends on the queue ,and most ridiculaous thing is no applicnt is allowed to carry even a umbrella ,and most pathetic thing is if you carry any thing with you ,police will escort you to a petty shop near by where you have to pay to the shopkeeper ,who will take care of your things .
