  • Does Passport need husbands name?

I did not change my name after marriage.
My (Indian) passsport which I got before marrriage still has my father's name.
    We have greencard.
My husband sponsored my parents and they got rejected 3 times.
Does passport has to have my husband's name on passport?
Could that be a reason for rejecting?
My parents had taken marriage certificate and all documents properly in folders.
Or could having a greencard be a reason for rejection?

we are not sure why they rejected visa.

    Any help is appreciated.

    visa prob..

I supposed they applied for a B1/B2.First, ask your parents the reason why the consul rejected their application for visa. Secondly, If you just want your parents to visit and tour the U.S. under your sponsorship(you and your hubby,i assume you're both well off)i suggest that you tell your parents not to carry any money or bank account and when asked by the consul as to how they will finance themselves, that's the time they show your affidavit of financial support and supporting documents ie;reserved return airfare tickets etc...

    update me about the progress..

      Thanks.

      Thanks.
Yes they applied for B2 . Everytime the same reason is given 214B for rejection. They did not tell anything more even after asking .

        Hi Uma,

I dont think not having your husband's name in the passport may be a reason for the rejection. The marraige certificate with both your names as in your passports should suffice.

Again, questions like how many siblings are you? How many in India? Is your father employed? Are they financially independent? etc.. may make a difference to their visa approval. May be it will help if your mother applied alone and your father is able to show a stable jon in India..

Let us know more details. In any case, there is nothing to worry..

        Best wishes
