My parents got their visitor visa yesterday at the chennai embassy. This was mom's second attempt and my dad's first.
Earlier when my mom was rejected in Oct 2006 (The interview was in english),
The following questions were asked in Oct 2006 (when my mom's visa was rejected)
VO: How many children do you have?
Mom: 1 son
VO: Why is your husband not accompanying you?
Mom: He is a senior official in BSNL and is busy, moreover my father-in-law is not keeping good health.
VO: Can I see your property documents?
Mom: She gave the documents
VO: Your visa is rejected.
Then I decided that for the next time, both my dad and mom should go together. And I decided to play a gamble
and booked their interview in Tamil.
This time my dad was questioned.
VO: How many children do you have?
Dad: 1 son
VO: Why did you not accompany your wife when she had her previous visa interview?
Dad: My father was not doing well and I had to look after him.
VO: What will you do about your father when you both go to the US?
Dad: My sister will take care of him for a month.
VO: Where do you work?
Dad: I am a divisional engineer at BSNL and my wife is a manager at Indian Bank.
VO: What is your salary?
Dad: My salary is around 30K a month and my wife makes around 25K a month.
VO: How long do you plan to go for?
Dad: 1 month.
VO: Enjoy your trip, your visa is approved.
Thanks a lot to immihelp for providing valuable information that helped my parents get their visa.
