  • B2 for 5 year old son

    Hello,

I have a 5 year old son. His B2 was rejected 3 years back when he was 2. At that time he was going to travel with his Grand Father and sponsorship from Grand father and Unlce. ( Mom's brother in US.)

This time around he would be travelling with his mother who has 10 years Visa for the US. The son now has shipping visa for US, Singapore, China and UK among other countries.

The sponsorship documents once again are from Uncle in US. The purpose of the visit is to attend the marriage of mom's brother in Chicago.

The interview for the 5 year old son is slated to happen in Bombay on 2nd May. Would like to ask what all preparations need to be done for it and what kind of questions should one anticipate.

    Thanks and Regards,
    A.

*What do they do? THeir annual income.
*What is the visa status of uncle in US?
*Describe the last interview for the child. Did the mother appear for it?

      Hi, as regards ur questions:

      1) Only child of 5 years studying in mumbai
      2) Husband is Merchant Navy Officer in a London based company. Annual Income is 18 lakhs. Carries the pass-book with self. It isnt here though.. Mother is a house-wife. (Single parent taking care of the child in husband's absence)
Rs 8-10 lakhs is the balance that the mother can show.
      3) He is on H1 work permit. He himself has said that he would be sponsoring but mother would be fending for herself. Though the sponsorship document is with her. (should this be said??)
      4) The last interview held in 2004 when the child was 3 years old. Last time balance was found to be low and husband's acc. passbook wasnt there. (Same case this time as well.) Another question that was asked is that how can you ensure that the child would return.

The mother appeared for the interview with the child.

The duration of the stay would be one month as the child needs to come back to attend school.

        Father's mostly abroad and his passbook is with him are not good signs;
indicators to the officer of a probable rift in the family which directly leads
to the assumption that mother and child may not return.

The only way here is for father to appear for the interview with the child,
show his income evidence and that he is financing the trip
and request the visa for the child.

No one needs to send any financial sponsorship papers from US if father finances the trip. Only unlce's passport, visa copies and an invitation letter is all that will be required.
