Visa Denied for my mother please help !

Hi,
My mother had an interview on 4/30, My father decided not to come to the US, so only my mother had the interview scheduled

Lady who was Kannada speking officer, asked my mother 2 qns and rejected without looking at any documents

1) where is ur son ?
Mother answered the city

2) Why your husband not coming with you
Ans: He is a heart patient, he is not coming with me now

She answed truth fully.

It was denied. I plan on applying again for both the parents together

Since my father was in india, one would think that chances of her coming back to india would be higher and they would grant visa.

Officer arrongant enough did not give any reason either - 214(b)

1) what is the time limit before applying again ?
2) What did we do wrong in the interview ?

Please help with some pointers...

Yes! looks like the same lady!
my Mother in law was saying whoever went to this lady every one was rejected! it is like just for formality sake she is asking the same questions and continously rejecting!
Any idea wat is the time gap between which we can apply again?

Just keep trying !, don't give up . My mother got it in the third attempt .

Hi,

My mom also got rejected on section 214(b). She attended Visa interview on May 3rd. My parents do not have any property or Income in India. So I thought my father should stay back and only my mother should apply for a Visa.

Is there anyway the sponsor can assure that the mother will return back after the Visa period?

Can apply after 3 Days.

The immigration help FAQ says, for reason 214(b) we can apply again after 3 days, if we think the situation changes.

Uncle Sam wants your money

It seems to me that the lady who was rejecting your mother's visa was helping uncle sam out or she is just a racist (did not like visitor to the U.S.). As you know, U.S. is at war with Iraq, any extra revenue helps the country. If they make most people apply several times before they are granted the visa, isn't that helping out uncle sam? That's probably they will reject even people with strong tie to their country with no reason. The reason they document in their computer (which they wouldn't tell the applicant) are most bolony or nick-picking point, because they have to document a specific reason for formality.

BTW, you should file a complaint to the local consular section chief about your case and ask for a review. Don't be a silent lamb!

Mom's visa got rejected

Mom attended on may 1st 8.45am but she was denied visa under section 214(b).
she attended in tamil.. VO was a lady...mom was asked only few questions
1.For seeing whom u r going to US?
mom answered like for seeing my daughter and son in-law...and also to visit various places in US.
on hearing this the translator rudely said like answer only to the question what v ask.
2.hw many children?what r they doing?
un married son in chennai,daughter settled,younger daughter(myself) in US..
3.what is ur husband?
bank employeee...
that's it.. he said like sorry v could not issue u the visa under 214b.
v donno whats the exact reason...v were confident that she would get visa..since an unmarried son is with them...after her return they r planning to arrange him marriage..
now v r planning to arrange for both father and mother..they may attend in english..it was like including my mom there were 4 out of 5 got rejected..i think its beter to attend in english..lemme hope for the best..
