When I was trying to help them with the Visa, most similar cases in immihelp were rejects, so I think my case might help people.
We are 2 sons both working in the US on H1. No siblings in India and none of the parents are working. Parents were rejected 2 times before. Last reject was in June and they got visa in April. Most people said no chance of getting visa.
Although luck plays an important role. These are the things you should surely consider
a) Shorten the trip duration. 2 months should be ideal for the first time.
b) Prepare all documents properly and honestly.
c) Dont ask parents to lie about anything.
d) Prove strong ties to family giving examples of functions they have attended and need to attend etc and also reluctance to stay long in US since they would miss them. Also talk about how leaving property unoccupied for long time is undesirable. Any income received monthly shoudl also be mentioned. In other words your parents have to talk and have to state facts.
My post will only help genuine cases esp I feel if point d) is properly put forward and the VOs listen (which they are nowadays). Parents have little experience talking formally in such environments. so some amount of prepping on phone can go miles towards building their confidence.
My parents followed a) through d) and they got the visa.
Good luck
