3 months or 6 weeks

Hi,
My mother will be appearing for B2, I am not sure if I have to put "3 months" or "6 weeks" for the question "How long do you intend to stay in US".
I had actually mentioned 3 months, but some people are asking to me put "6 weeks".
I am not sure, please help.

6 weeks is kind of short for a mother visiting her child.
3 months is just fine.
