  • Documents to send to the Consulate

    Hi,

The VFS website mentions the following documents to be sent to the Consulate 5 days prior to the interview

    1. Valid passport copy. You are recommended to have passport valid for travel for at least six months beyond your date of entry into the U.S.
    2. One photograph as per specification
    3. Original signed form DS-156
    4. Original Form DS-157 only if you are 15 to 55 years of age
    5. Original form DS-158 only if you are applying for F,M or J visa.
    6. Original, valid HDFC Bank visa fee receipt.

The immihelp website mentions additional documents (sponsorship related documents) at the following link (https://www.immihelp.com/us-visa-application-procedure/ (See #3 This step just for Mumbai consulate: )

Is immihelp just trying to play it safe or are these extra documents actually required before the interview ?

    Thanks
    ASP

Check it out again at https://www.immihelp.com/us-visa-application-procedure/.

Honestly, VFS keeps changing their rules all the time.
