Can we mention CD account in the account verification letter?

Can someone please tell me if we can mention any CD account in the account verification letter along with Checking or savings account or its usually only the Checking and Savings account that wee need to mention?

My husband is sponsoring for my parents visa, and he would show our joint account balance in the letter, whereas i was holding an individial CD account, and i just added my husbands name on it recently. So can we also mention the CD account in the account verification letter under our names?

CD's and savings accounts are all part of savings and money easily liquidated if needed.

You can also mention stocks and mutual funds etc that you own as part of assests you have.


I have been reading a lot of your comments on the website so here is my advice.

If you feel that the money in your husbands name is insufficient, why dont both of you sponsor his parents.

You will provide I-134 from each of you for each parent you sponsor. A separate I-134 from each sponsor for each applicant.

This way most of the problems you are facing will be solved.

Also provide proof of your legal status and W2 and banks etc.

But do remember that often none of these things are more important than the applicants themselves. They have to confident and clear and prove that they still have ties to their country
