Hi All,
My parents atlast got 10-yr visa. This was their third attempt.
First rejection was 214(b) second the same since we both me and my sister are in United States.
time gap was first in dec 2006 and second in April 2007 and third in May 2007.
First and second time there was no changes in the documents or language of interview(telugu). we Opted for telugu because my parents were not so fluent in english. First two times they were rejected saying 214(b) they did not look at any documents
Third time we changed the language of interview we have taken appointment in english , and the other thing was we made our parents sponsor themselves. This time too they did not see any documents. They asked only my documents and many questions they asked were regarding me(son).
The interview went like this it went for more than 30 minutes but I am writing down what I remember:
v: Good morning
Parents: Good morning Sir
v: why r u going to US?
p:for tourism
v: how many mnths
p:X months
v:you have two children both of them are in US
p: yes sir 1 son and 1 daughter
v:where r they
p: son in *** state and daughter in ** state
v:when did ur son go to us?
p:*** date
v: when did ur daughter go to us?
p:*** date
v:what does ur son do?
p:** at ** company
v:what does ur daughter do?
p:***
v:r u working?
p:no retired
v:where did you work?
p:*** cmpnay
v:what was ur designation?
p:***
v: what is ur sons designation
p:***
v:do you have any brothers and sisters
p:X brothers and x sisters and my wife has x brothers and x sisters
v: what is the proof that u will come back
p:I have ** much of property and I need to take care of my mother(grand mother)
He looked at the documents of mine(son) and nothing of my parents or sisters he not even the CA statement.
I think that time frame does not really matter since my parents had gone to visa for 3 times in less than 6 months.
First thing is Gods Grace he helped us a lot. we trained our parents very well for like 15 days for interview in english since my parents were not that fluent.
I wish all others whose parents or relatives applying for visa all the best and god help them.
