I am happy that my parents got their visa in first attempt and I have to thank all of you with their excellent replies and help.
It was scheduled for 24th may at 8.00 in the morning. they got their around 7.15 and were allowed inside around 8.00.
I told my parents it does not matter if u get or not....just be urself and smile...( i think that worked since both of them have a great smile)
the vo was indian since i had asked for hindi translator in chennai.
they called for my parents and both of them said good morning then the vo said 'good morning and namaste'...oh my mom felt good....
all the question were directed to my father and not a single question to my mom....all she did was smiled all along...
vo asked my father how many children?
dad. 5... 2 sons and 3 daughters.
what do they do?
dad.four of my children r in india n they all work.
vo.u r retired right?
dad. yes...(at this point i had told my father to explain his situation)
vo.do they all live together?
dad. yes and they all help with finances and if required my daughter who is in US all helps us financially.
vo. how many months do u want to visit ur daughter?
dad. 6 mths...
vo good... then go n have a wonderful time with ur daughter.
dad.so i get visa??????:-))))
vo.he smiled n said yes please go home sir and sleep well i m giving u 10 years visa.
at this point they gave the vo a big smile and big thankyou and per my dad the vo did not see any papers.
he took d156, passport, hdfc fees slip and appointment letter.
i have told my brother to collect the passport if he can otherwise we can get them at home.
When i spoke to my father who is 72 and my mom is 67 they were so shocked and i m sure nervous but they did not tell me.my mom was joking and said she had remembered everything and they did not ask her anything.....i guess she was happy since my dad had to face the questions:-)))))))))
Anyways Immihelp admin please keep up the good work u have done and so have others.
And all the best for everyone who is trying to get their parents here.
As somebody had mentioned here it is how u present ur self which matters.
thanks once again.
