Visitor visa question ??

My dad is 64yrs old. He has to apply for an interview at Chennai. But the interview dates in telugu are not available. I want to put him in English interview. He is self educated, worked but retired 7yrs ago. He can talk and understand English. But in his application for visa he put it as uneducated/self educated and signed in telugu in the affidavit. Is it ok if he tells the interviewer that he is self educated and learned to write and speak in English ? or will he face problems ??thanks .
