DS-156: Date of Birth entered wrong

Hello,After submitting the Visitors Visa (DS-156) application, i realised that year of birth of my mother-inlaw was entered wrong. Instead of 1949, it was entered as 1948. But iam able to use 1949 to retriew the application. Not able to change the DOB field in the application form. Can any one please give me some suggestions what to do?

Shall i sent an email to chennai consulate or call them? If i cancel and resubmit i may not get the same date of oppointment so iam trying to see what options i have..

Hello all,
Just wanted to share some info regarding this .
I did the same mistake for my parents visa on their DS-156 forms. I entered my mother dob wrong and realised after our interview appt is confirmed.

As per this website suggestions, here is what we did
1) take a xerox of the orginal application.(just for reference)
2)Modify the orginal application with pen

Take both of them to consulate at the time of interview.You can explain to them its a manual mistake if they ask specifically.

Luckily for us,consulate didnt ask any questions regarding this.

My parents succesfully got visa approved..on jan18th 2008.
without any problems.
