Need help to decide on getting a B1/B2 appt/visa

Hi Immihelp,

I need your help in making a decision on whether to get a B1/B2 appointment for my brother who has a valid US Crewman Visa C1/D that expires in 2009. Is B1/B2 visa required when he already has a valid C1/D visa to visit the US? Are any sponsor documents required for him to visit on C1/D? If so, what docs? Please advice.

If he is coming to visit, he would required B1/B2 visa.

If he is coming to do ship related job, he can enter on C1/D visa.

Thank you for the advice. So, for B1/B2 visa, is it advisable to take an appointment for himself alone, as he is single and 25 years old? Or is it advisable to take it along with my grandparents just to be sure that he also gets the visa? What are the chances of his getting the B1/B2 visa? He has a lot of other countries stampings on his visa as he travels on his ship to several countries. Please advice.
