  • Consulate letter, 3rd attempt

I am inviting my mother-in-law. It is her 3rd attempt. Would it be a good idea to highlight the changes in her application since her last attempt in the letter to the consulate? Do they even read that letter? The changes are following:
    1. Her younger daughter has returned to India and works there with a large multnational. She was a student here the last time.
    2. My father-in-law will not be accompanying her so she has even stronger ties and reason to go back. In the last two attempts both my in-laws had applied together.
    3. I was a student myself at the time of the last application and now have a decent job so we are finaicially much more able to support her.

    Thanks

Yes, it helps to point out these facts in your letter to the consulate. You can also prepare a cover letter (letter to consulate written by your mother-in-law) covering the same points. You should mention these points clearly as seperate bullets. She can even hand that letter to the VO the first thing when she meets him/ her. My father-in-law did that and it seems to have worked in their case.

Hope all goes well with your mother-in-law's appointment.
