  • POE Officer stamped B2 instead of B1 on the passport

    Hi there,

When at POE, i presented the invitation letter from my company, they granted me 6 months but the officer stampped B2 instead of B1 on my passport, now i have to extend my stay for another 2 months. Will i have any problem as I have to extend it on Business grounds not on Visitors.

What i believe B1 is for Business and B2 is for visitors Visa.

    Kindly suggest.

    Regards
    Sam

As long as your visa stamp shows B1/B2, it should not be any problem.

Hi, My wife has B1/B2 VISA and she travelled to USA in 2009 through her company for training, at port of entry POE officer asked her months of stay, she said 6 months, so that he stamped B2.

No issues so far, but right now she is going for L2, i heared that she may face some challenges in embassy regarding her B2 stay as she travelled through her company, can anyone suggest how to overcome this situation?

Did the US visa consulate ask any particular questions related to her previous travel. Thanks. Request you to please reply asap as i am having interview next week.
