B2 Visa - parents going to canada and coming back

Hi,

My parents have a 10 year visa and got six months of stay in US. Currently they are in US and we all planning to go to Canada for a trip like a week. When we come back to USA, at port of entry will there be a problem for our parents to come back to USA. Actually my brother sponsered their visa and they are currently at my place. My brother will not come with us to Canada.
Do we get any problems to get visa to Canada for my parents? Do we get into any problems at port of entry of USA? What should we do? Please advise..

The "going to Canada" and back is an old trick, used many times to extend your 6-month stay in the US.

The should be OK going to Canada from the US and back. In order not to raise suspicion, I would recommend for your parents to go to Canada and return after, say, a month or so in the US - do not wait until the last minute, when their I94 is about to expire. You risk the chance of an overzealous officer cancelling their visa, or denying them entry into the US.

My parents can stay here for four more months for this trip. But we wanted to go canada for a week visit. Like you said, it seems if there is a jealous officer we will have some tought time. If they don't allow them to come back, that will be a big problem..
