  • Space between two US trips on B2 Visa

    Hello,
We have a 10 year B2 VISA. Can someone tell me if we need to maintain a minimum of 6 months between two trips to the US? We would like to go back and come back after 2 months. Is this possible? Will my son need to send an invite letter for our trip again?

    thanks,
    Padma Natarajan

    Time gap between 2 visits

I've heard that the officers at the port of entry in US may suspect your intentions if you are frequently entering US on a "visitor" visa. They may give a lesser time stamp on I-94 the second time or may subject you to secondary inspection at the port of entry. It again depends on the officer at the POE.

To be on the safer side, it is better to stay in India for atleast 6 months before you return back to U.S. Also, in a year, it is advisable to spend atleast 6 months or more in your home country than in the US.

When you are visiting 2nd time, they may not insist for an invitation letter, but it is safer to have one and also a return ticket. All the best for your trip.
