we are a family from the Philippines and we wish to apply for a B2 visa. The main reason for this travel is to visit my husband's siblings (sister & brother), close relatives and friends residing there. We plan to bring with us our 2 kids aged 12 & 9 years old. We think this is the perfect time to travel with them since they are big enough to enjoy and appreciate this trip. I want to know our chances of getting an approved B2 visa with our present requirements:
1. We are both working for the Philippine government. I am employed as a Human Resource Management Officer for 20 years now. My husband works at a Local Government Unit as a Local Treasury Operations Officer and is on his 16th year. We have no pending administrative cases in our respective offices and our combined monthly income is P35,000++. We both have accummulated leave credits which we can use in our planned trip.
2. We have bank accounts both savings and in time deposits and we are still continuously saving for this trip and we plan to pursue this travel by Summer (April-May) of 2009.
3. We have our own home in the compound of my parents who are both still living. My elderly parent are partially dependent on us and they are both 73 years old.
4. We are holders of Citibank Gold Card and Mastercard Visas. We also have other international bank credit cards which we can use for this travel.
5. Our family is very much involved in our parish. My husband heads the 7Pm choir every Sunday and we together w/ our kids join him in the choir. We are also active members of our parish-based organizations namely Sinag Kabataan and the Antioch Community.
6. Our children are both attending school here in the Philippines. We plan to set our trip summer of 2009 in time for the children's school break. We will be staying at my sister-in-laws place who resides in California.
Given these, what are our chances of obtaining B2 visa? What other suggestions can you give us? What other documents do we need to prepare? What possible questions will the Consul ask us and what are the possible answers can we give him. Thank you so much and I hope to receive a reply from your end soon.
