  • Dad's visa - Mumbai consulate

    Hi,

I want my dad to apply for a visitor's visa. He initially applied for the visa with my mom and their visa was rejected. After that my mom applied alone and she got a visa for 10 yrs Multiple entry and is in US with us. I want my dad to join too. Is it a good idea for him to re-apply for the visa alone? If asked why his wife is not joining him what is the best answer to give?

I want my dad to come here a month before (may be in September) my mom leaves so that I can show him around and moreover he cannot stay for longer than a month since my younger sister is studying in India.

    Any advice would be appreciated.

    Thanks

Say that the mom is already with you. He will be mentioning it on his Ds-156 anyways ??

What is the best reason for him to give that he wants to visit at this time?

Honesty is the best policy & it works!

Honesty does work. Any un-truth shows on the face. American consulate officials can sniff any un-truths.

Just tell them exactly as you mentioned that you want your dad here and want to show him around the beautiful country. That's it, simple!

Good luck to your father for his visa.
