Hi,
First of all, thank you for taking your time and reading my question.
My father applied his Visitor visa in 2004, and was rejected. In 2004, he was in his 2nd marriage, and his 2nd wife had a daughter (over 21). So when the visa officer asked him the question about how many children he has. He answered 3. (Me, my brother, and our step-sister from his 2nd marriage)
Since then, my father got divorced and remarried to his 3rd wife who has a teenager boy. In June 2007, he applied the visitor visa again, and the VO asked him the same question, how many children he has and what they do for living.
This time my father didn’t mention the “step daughter” from his 2nd marriage because he thought legally she is no longer his daughter. He told the VO, he has 3 kids – me, my brother, and my step-brother who is still in elementary school.
The VO officer immediately disqualified my father’s application because he thought my father was lying about his kids since my father was giving different information about his 3rd child. The problem is that the interview went so quickly before my father even realized what went wrong, the VO has already called for the next interviewee.
What should we do now? I feel like my father deserves an explanation, and an inconsistent answer will surely hurt any of his future visa applications at this point. It just happens that my father has a complicated marriage history, but this should not prevent him getting a visitor visa. What do you guys think? Any help or advice would be highly appreciated.
